Ingredients

  • Dough
  • 2 sticks salted butter, room temperature (divided)
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup warm Salty Honey Caramel Coffee
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 3 tsp instant active dry yeast
  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup Whipped Honey
  • 5 cups bread flour (plus more for dusting)
  • Filling
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp finely ground Salty Honey Caramel Coffee
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • Frosting
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 2–4 tbsp Salty Honey Caramel Coffee (add 1 tbsp at a time)

Directions

  1. Make the Dough - Start by buttering the inside of a large bowl.
  2. In a stand mixer with dough hook: combine milk, coffee, vanilla paste, ½ cup butter, yeast, eggs, whipped honey, and flour. Mix until soft, elastic dough forms (2–4 mins).
  3. Too moist? Add flour 1 tbsp at a time. Too dry? Add coffee 1 tbsp at a time.
  4. Transfer dough to the buttered bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and a tea towel.
  5. Let rise in a warm spot for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. Make the Filling
  7. Butter a 9x13” baking dish. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and finely ground coffee.
  8. On a floured surface, roll dough into a 16x24” rectangle.
  9. Spread remaining butter over dough to the edges.
  10. Sprinkle filling evenly. Add pecans and chocolate chips if using.
  11. Roll tightly from the long edge, seam side down. Pinch seam.
  12. Slice into 12 rolls with a serrated knife.
  13. Place in prepared pan. Cover and let rise 1 hour or until doubled.
  14. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  15. Bake 20–25 minutes, until golden brown.
  16. Cool slightly before frosting.
  17. In a bowl, whip together butter, sugar, and vanilla.
  18. Slowly add coffee 1 tbsp at a time until smooth and spreadable.
  19. While rolls are warm, spread half the frosting.
  20. Before serving, spread remaining frosting. Serve warm & enjoy!
