Mojito Cold Brew Coffee Recipe
This mojito cold brew coffee recipe is the thing you make when you want a drink that feels like it took effort — and takes about five minutes. Fresh mint, lime juice, fizzy water, and Stand Tall Cold Brew do exactly what you think they're going to do together, and it's great.

Five Minutes. One Muddler. Zero Regrets.
- The cold brew is already done — you made it last night. Assembly takes about as long as it takes to find the muddler.
- It's a mocktail by default, a cocktail if you want it to be. The rum is optional and the drink is good either way.
- Tastes like you put in way more work than you did, which is honestly the whole point.
The Java Momma Twist: We use Stand Tall Cold Brew here because it's bold enough to hold its own against lime and mint without disappearing into the background. Steep the pod in cold water overnight and you've got a smooth, rich base that makes the whole mojito thing click. You could use any cold brewed coffee — but Stand Tall was built for exactly this kind of cold application, and it shows.
The Cold Brew That Makes This Work
Stand Tall Signature Cold Brew is a robust, smooth blend made specifically for cold brewing — no bitterness, deep flavor, and bold enough that lime and mint sharpen it rather than drown it. Each pod steeps in cold water overnight, no equipment needed, no mess. You could use another cold brewed coffee — but this is the one the recipe was built around.

What You'll Need
For the Cold Brew Base (make this the night before):
- 1 Stand Tall Cold Brew pod
- 5 cups cold water
For the Mojito Mix:
- 8–10 fresh mint leaves
- 2 tsp brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp fresh lime juice (about half a lime)
To Build the Drink:
- 6–8 oz brewed and chilled Stand Tall Cold Brew
- 2 oz sparkling water
- Ice cubes
- 1½ oz rum (optional)
- Fresh mint sprig and lime wedge, to garnish
How To Make It
- Brew overnight. Drop a Stand Tall Cold Brew pod into 5 cups of cold water. Steep on your countertop for 12–18 hours, then remove the pod and refrigerate the cold brew until you're ready to use it.
- Muddle the mint. Add fresh mint leaves, brown sugar, and lime juice to the bottom of a tall glass. Use a muddler — or the handle of a wooden spoon — to press and twist gently until the mint is fragrant and the sugar starts to dissolve into the lime juice. Don't shred the leaves; you just want the oils released.
- Add ice and pour. Fill the glass halfway with ice. Pour the cold brewed coffee over the ice and stir to combine with the muddled mint mixture.
- Add rum if using. If you're making the cocktail version, pour in the rum now and give it one more stir.
- Top with bubbles. Pour the sparkling water over the top — don't stir again after this, or you'll lose the fizz.
- Garnish and serve. Tuck a sprig of fresh mint and a lime wedge into the glass. Drink it immediately — this one doesn't wait well.
Swaps & Permission Slips
- No fresh mint? You can use ¼ tsp of pure mint extract — add it directly to the glass with the lime juice and sugar, skip the muddling step. The flavor is sharper and less herbal, but it works in a pinch.
- Prefer less sweetness? Start with 1 tsp of brown sugar instead of 2, taste after the cold brew goes in, and adjust from there. The lime does a lot of the flavor work anyway.
- Want a bigger batch? One Stand Tall pod brews about 5 cups — scale the mojito mix proportionally and stir everything in a pitcher. Add the sparkling water per glass right before serving so the fizz stays.
- Skipping the rum? The mocktail version is completely satisfying on its own — the cold brew and lime together have enough going on that you don't miss it.
Made this one? Stand Tall Cold Brew is a 4-pod pack — steep a pod the night before and you've got cold brew ready to go whenever you need it. Fresh roasted to order, every time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you put lime juice in cold brew coffee?
Yes — and it works better than you'd expect. The acidity in lime juice brightens the cold brew's flavor rather than clashing with it, especially when it's balanced with a little sugar and fresh mint. The key is not to overdo it: one tablespoon of fresh lime juice per serving keeps the citrus as a note, not the whole song.
What does a cold brew mojito taste like?
It tastes like a mojito that also wakes you up. The coffee base adds depth and a slight bitterness that plays well against the mint and lime, and the sparkling water makes the whole thing feel lighter than it is. It's refreshing without being sweet, and the mint is noticeable without tasting like toothpaste — which is the line you want to stay on the right side of.
How do you muddle mint without making it bitter?
Press and twist gently — you're releasing the essential oils from the leaves, not destroying them. The second the mint smells fragrant, stop. Torn or over-muddled mint leaves turn bitter and also float up into your straw, which is annoying. Whole leaves, gentle pressure, done.
Can I make a cold brew mojito without alcohol?
Absolutely — the rum is listed as optional in this recipe for exactly that reason. The mocktail version is a sparkling mint cold brew coffee that holds up completely on its own. The cold brew and lime do enough flavor work that you won't feel like anything's missing.
Can I make cold brew mojito coffee ahead of time?
The cold brew itself is made the night before — that's already built into the recipe. What you can't make ahead is the assembled drink, because the sparkling water loses its fizz quickly. The workaround: muddle the mint, sugar, and lime juice up to a day ahead and keep it covered in the fridge. When you're ready, add ice, cold brew, and bubbles, and you're there in about 90 seconds.
