Some ideas sound questionable until you actually try them.
This is one of those drinks. Sweet. Salty. Cold. A little ridiculous — and somehow exactly right. It takes the vibe of a chocolate-covered potato chip and turns it into an iced coffee that feels more like a treat than a routine.

Is this an everyday situation? Probably not. Is it very fun when you want something different? Absolutely.
Why You’ll Love It
- Sweet and salty in the best way
- Feels like a coffee shop experiment you can make at home
- Cold, creamy, and a little unexpected
- Perfect for when regular iced coffee feels boring

Category: Iced Coffee Drinks
Ingredients
- 2 oz espresso or 4 oz strong brewed coffee (Fade to Black or Death by Chocolate work especially well)
- 2 cups potato chips
- 8 oz milk of choice
- 1 Tbsp maple syrup
- Chocolate sauce, for the inside of the glass
- Whipped cream, for garnish (optional)
- Crushed potato chips, for garnish (optional)
Method
- In a bowl, soak the potato chips in milk for about 10 minutes, until softened.
- Transfer the mixture to a blender and pulse 2–3 times, just enough to combine.
- Strain through a mesh strainer into a jar or glass and set aside.
- Brew espresso or strong coffee over the maple syrup and stir to combine.
- Drizzle chocolate sauce inside a tall glass to create rings along the sides.
- Fill the glass with crushed ice, add the coffee, and top with the potato chip milk.
- Finish with whipped cream and crushed potato chips if you’re feeling extra.
Notes & Swaps
- If this feels like a commitment, start with half a glass.
- Any plain potato chip works — the saltier, the better.
- You can skip the whipped cream and keep it simple if you want.
