Brown sugar, apple butter, and a splash of cider, simmered together until it smells like the inside of a bakery — that's the whole trick. This is the syrup underneath our Caramel Apple Latte and our Apple Crisp Macchiato, and once you've made a batch you'll understand why it keeps showing up. It's not just a coffee syrup. It's the thing that makes your Brazil Medium Roast taste like it wandered into a bakery.

How to make apple crisp syrup

Combine brown sugar, apple butter, apple cider, and a little cinnamon sugar in a saucepan. Simmer gently for a few minutes until it comes together into a pourable syrup. That's it — five minutes, one pot, no candy thermometer required.

The Coffee That Makes This Work

Brazil Medium Roast is the everyday base we reach for with this syrup. It's smooth, nutty, and low acid enough to let the apple and cinnamon do the talking instead of fighting them. You could use another medium roast — but this is the one that gets out of the way. If you catch our Dutch Apple Strudel Coffee when it's in season, that's a fun way to double down on the apple flavor — but the syrup was built to work with whatever's already in your pantry.

FAQ

What is apple crisp syrup made of?

Brown sugar, apple butter, apple cider, and a little cinnamon sugar, simmered together until it's pourable. No pectin, no thickeners — just pantry ingredients.

How long does apple crisp syrup last?

About a week in the fridge in an airtight container.

Can I use apple crisp syrup in coffee?

That's what it's built for. A tablespoon or two in hot or iced coffee gets you most of the way to a cafƩ-style fall latte.

Is there a sugar-free version?

Yes — the Keto Caramel Apple Latte uses an allulose-based version of this same flavor.

What coffee pairs best with apple crisp syrup?

A smooth, low-acid medium roast like Brazil Medium Roast lets the syrup lead. A seasonal apple-flavored coffee works too, when we have one in rotation.
