All the chai. None of the ceiling-staring.
The problem with a good chai latte at 10 PM isn't the flavor — it's the caffeine receipt that comes due at 2 AM. Rooibos fixes that. It's a South African red bush that brews up earthy and full-bodied with a natural sweetness underneath, and it takes spice the way black tea does without the caffeine attached. Vanilla smooths the edges. Cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and clove do the warm-spice work, and a thread of orange runs underneath — bright enough to notice, quiet enough to stay out of the way. The result is a cup that tastes like a chai latte made a very reasonable decision about bedtime.
Rooibos has no tannins, which means it doesn't go bitter if you walk away and forget about it for a few minutes. Steep it for seven minutes, twelve minutes, or however long it takes you to finish the thing you were doing — it holds. Brew it strong and add oat milk or a splash of cream and it becomes something closer to a latte than most lattes made with tea bags. No special equipment. A mug and a strainer.
Late evening, after dinner, whenever the day officially ends — this is the one.

How to Brew
Hot:
2 teaspoons per 8 oz of water. Bring water to a full rolling boil (212°F). Steep 7–10 minutes. Rooibos contains no tannins, so it won't go bitter even on a longer steep — pull it whenever you're ready.
As a latte:
Brew strong — 2 heaping teaspoons per 6 oz of water, steep for the full 10 minutes. Pour into your mug and top with steamed or warm oat milk, whole milk, or a splash of cream. No sweetener needed, but a small drizzle of honey works if you want it.
Iced:
Brew hot as directed with slightly less water than usual. Let it cool, pour over ice. Add cold milk or oat milk for an iced latte version.
One 2 oz bag makes approximately 22–28 cups depending on brew strength.
Storage Tips
Store in a cool, dry spot away from heat, moisture, and direct light. Reseal the bag after each use. Rooibos holds its flavor well — just keep it away from humidity and strong odors.
FAQ
Is this tea caffeinated?
No — rooibos is a South African red bush, not a tea plant, so it contains no caffeine naturally. Any time of day works, including late night.
Does this tea taste sweet without adding sugar?
It has a naturally warm and vanilla-forward character that reads as sweet without any added sugar or sweetener. Rooibos has a mild natural sweetness of its own that the vanilla builds on. How sweet it tastes depends on brew strength and what you add, but it's genuinely good on its own.
Can I add milk to this tea?
Yes — Rooibos Vanilla Chai holds up well with milk. Oat milk and whole milk both work well and lean into the latte direction. If you're adding milk, brew it strong so the flavor carries through. Any milk works — dairy or non-dairy.
Will this tea get bitter if I steep it too long?
No. Rooibos contains no tannins, which means it won't turn bitter regardless of steep time. Steep it for seven minutes or ten — it holds either way.
What's in this blend?
Rooibos Vanilla Chai contains rooibos tea, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, orange, and natural vanilla flavor. No added sugar, no sweeteners.
How many cups does one bag make?
One 2 oz bag makes approximately 22–28 cups, depending on how strong you like it. Use 2 teaspoons per cup for a full-flavored brew, or scale up slightly for a latte-strength steep.
