Copy, paste, tweak to fit. No writing from scratch required.

A quick note: if a young person is the one fundraising, there's a very good chance an adult is the one actually sending these messages and posts — and that's exactly how it should go. This guide is written for whoever ends up holding the phone.

Where to Find Your Share Links

Every personal fundraiser page has a row of share buttons right at the bottom — Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Email, WhatsApp, a general Share button, and a QR code. Each one already has your personal link built in, so there's nothing to copy or type.

The QR code is worth a second look — print it on a flyer, post it at practice, or put it on a poster. It's a genuinely easy way to reach people who aren't on your phone at all. Grab our printable flyer template here — just add your QR code and your group's name.

A Simple Sharing Rhythm

You don't need a content calendar. One share isn't enough — most people don't act the first time they see something — but three or four well-timed touches over the life of your fundraiser make a real difference.

  • Day 1 — Kick it off. Share everywhere at once: text, social, email. This is when people are most likely to act.
  • Midpoint — A gentle reminder. People forget, not because they don't care. A quick repost or "still going!" text works fine.
  • Final week — Mention the timeline. "We're wrapping up soon" is a completely honest, non-pushy reason to share again.
  • Last day — One more nudge. "Closing tonight" is the easiest message you'll ever write, and it works.

Text Message

Hey! I'm helping [name/team] raise money for [cause] — would you be up for grabbing a bag of coffee (or tea, or something sweet)? Every order goes straight toward it. Here's the link: [your link]

Send it to people directly rather than a mass group text if you can — it reads as more personal and gets a better response. The general Share button on your page will open your phone's normal texting app with the link already attached.

WhatsApp

Same message as above works great here — just tap the WhatsApp button on your page and it opens ready to send. Especially useful for family group chats or anyone you'd normally reach that way.

Facebook Post

Grab our ready-made announcement graphic here — swap in your group's name and logo, no design skills needed.

[Team/group name] is raising money for [cause], and we'd love your support! Java Momma has genuinely great coffee, tea, and snacks — and every order placed through our link goes straight toward our goal. No pressure at all, just wanted to share in case you're in the market for some really good coffee. 🙂 [your link]

This is usually the highest-value place to post — most people supporting a fundraiser like this are on Facebook.

Email

Subject: Quick favor — supporting [team/group name]

Hi [Name], [team/group] is running a fundraiser to help cover [cause], and I wanted to share in case you're interested. It's through Java Momma — really solid coffee, tea, and snacks, no gimmicks. Every order placed through this link goes straight toward our goal: [your link]. Thanks so much for considering it — even a share helps if coffee's not your thing!

Good for extended family, coworkers, and anyone you wouldn't normally text.

Don't Forget These Places

The share buttons cover the obvious channels — here are a few more worth thinking about that don't have a dedicated button:

  • Workplace Slack, Teams, or break-room conversation
  • Neighborhood or community Facebook groups (separate from your own profile)
  • Church, sports league, or other community group newsletters
  • A printed flyer with the QR code, left somewhere people will actually see it

Saying Thanks

When someone orders, a quick thank-you goes a long way — and makes them more likely to share your link with someone else.

Thank you so much for supporting [team/group]! Your order genuinely makes a difference, and we hope you love your coffee. 🙂

Two More Easy Ones

Email Signature

Help us get to [destination/goal]! Order Java Momma coffee, tea, or snacks here: [your link]

Drop this into your email signature for the length of your campaign — it's a channel most people never think to use, and it costs zero extra effort once it's set.

Milestone Update

We're at $[X] raised of our $[goal] goal — thank you to everyone who's ordered so far! [your link]

Perfect for that midpoint check-in mentioned above. Real numbers make people more likely to jump in, not less.

A Few Last Tips

  • Personalize before sending. Swap in a name or a specific detail where you can — even one word makes a templated message feel like it came from you.
  • It's okay to ask more than once. A second or third reminder isn't nagging — most people genuinely mean to help and just forget.
  • Tag people directly when you post on social media rather than only posting publicly — a direct tag gets seen far more often than a general post.
