Java Momma Wins 2023 Green Business of the Year Award
Java Momma named 2023 Green Business of the Year
DANVILLE, PA – April 22, 2023 – Java Momma, a Danville-based coffee roaster and direct sales company, is proud to announce that it has been named the 2023 Green Business of the Year by the Central PA Chamber of Commerce. The prestigious award, presented at the Chamber’s Breakfast Briefing event on Friday, April 21, recognizes Java Momma’s commitment to environmentally friendly practices and renewable energy.
Java Momma co-owners Brian and Melissa Shoop were thrilled to accept the award, with Brian stating, “We’re super excited to have received the Green Business of the Year Award. One of the things that differentiates Java Momma from a lot of others is that we roast our coffee with electric roasters powered by renewable energy. Our building has 300 solar panels on the roof, and those solar panels basically provide all the electricity we need to roast, process, and package our coffee. We also use renewable packaging whenever possible, and generally, we try as many green practices in our business as we can.”
Founded in 2017, Java Momma has been dedicated to providing high-quality coffee, tea, and other products to customers across the United States. The company’s products are primarily sold through a network of more than 1,800 direct sales associates, referred to as “Baristas.” Java Momma air roasts its coffee, resulting in a cleaner process and more consistent taste.
In addition to its core product offerings, Java Momma supports non-profits, schools, and sports organizations with private label coffee, gift baskets, and fundraisers. The company also takes pride in its environmentally friendly initiatives, such as using renewable energy to power its operations and implementing green business practices throughout its processes.

As Brian Shoop noted, “A lot of the younger market prefer to find companies that have renewable energy or are environmentally conscious.
