"Satin" refers to the smooth, rounded mouthfeel that sets this one apart from a typical dark roast.

Is this coffee easy on the stomach?
It tends to be — probably more than most. Sumatra coffees are naturally lower in acid than most origins, and a dark roast pushes that even further, since the longer roast time reduces the compounds that can cause irritation. Add our air-roasting on top of both of those, and this is about as gentle as dark roast gets. No guarantees, because everyone's different, but if coffee and your stomach don't always get along, this one's worth a try.
Why does this coffee taste like chocolate and cherry if there's no flavoring added?
That's just the bean. Coffee picks up flavor characteristics from where it's grown, how it's processed, and how it's roasted — no flavoring required. This is single-origin Sumatran coffee, and even with the deeper roast, the chocolate and black cherry notes typical of this origin come through. Nothing's been added to get there.
Do you offer a decaf version?
Not for this one — Sumatra Satin Dark Roast is currently available in regular only. If decaf is a dealbreaker, our decaf lineup is worth a look.

Does a dark roast mean more caffeine?
Not really — if anything, slightly less by volume. Longer roasting causes the beans to expand and lose density, so a scoop of dark roast has marginally less caffeine than the same scoop of a lighter roast. The bigger factor is always how much coffee you use, not how dark it's roasted. This one's about flavor and smoothness, not a caffeine boost.
