Chai With a Plot Twist.
Classic chai is great. Apple Chai is chai that decided to be more interesting.
Same warm backbone — cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves — but apple pieces and a hint of orange show up and make everything a little brighter, a little fruitier, a little harder to put down. It's the kind of tea that smells like something baking and tastes like you planned it that way.
High caffeine. Big flavor. One ounce of loose leaf that punches well above its weight.
Flavor Notes
Warm cinnamon and clove up front. Ginger and cardamom through the middle. Juicy apple and a quiet citrus note from the orange on the finish. Bold black tea underneath all of it. Spiced without being one-note. Fruity without being sweet.
The Leaf
Each 1 oz bag contains: black tea, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, orange, apple pieces, natural apple flavor, and natural cinnamon flavor.
High caffeine — this is a black tea base with real presence. Morning tea, not a wind-down tea. Treat it like your coffee replacement on the days you want something different.
Steeping Cheat Sheet
Hot (Recommended): 1 tsp per 8 oz. Water at a full boil — 212°F. Steep exactly 5 minutes. This one has cloves and cinnamon, so don't over-steep unless you want your mug to fight back.
Measurements: 1 oz of loose leaf makes roughly 10–15 cups depending on how strong you like it. A kitchen scale or a standard teaspoon works fine.
No fancy gear required. A mug strainer, a loose leaf infuser, or a fine mesh strainer. That's all. If you have a teapot, great. If you don't, same result.
Hot vs. Iced
Hot: Where this tea lives. The spices bloom fully in hot water and the apple rounds everything out into something genuinely cozy.
Iced: Steep double-strength — 2 tsp per 8 oz, full 5 minutes — let it cool slightly, pour over ice. The apple and orange notes come forward when it's chilled. Solid iced chai without the work.
The move: Steep hot, pour over ice with a splash of oat milk or apple cider. Spiced apple iced chai. It sounds like a lot and tastes like exactly that.
FAQ
How strong is the caffeine?
High — this is a full black tea base. If you're sensitive to caffeine, treat this like a strong cup of coffee and plan accordingly.
Should I add sweetener?
The apple flavor adds natural sweetness, so taste it first before you reach for anything. A little honey or simple syrup goes a long way if you want it sweeter.
Can I make a chai latte with this?
Yes. Steep double-strength, top with steamed milk of your choice. Oat milk is great. Whole milk is classic. Coconut milk leans tropical. All of them work.
How long does loose leaf stay fresh?
Up to 12 months in a sealed container away from light and heat. An airtight tin or jar works great.
How many cups does 1 oz make?
Roughly 10–15 cups at 1 tsp per 8 oz. water. More if you steep lighter, fewer if you go heavy.
